SUMMARY
The Private Bank Business Development Officer serves as a proactive, trusted financial advocate for Private Banking clients through the integrated delivery of investment, credit, fiduciary, specialized asset management and depository services. This person will serve both private banking customers and account officers from the Representative Offices. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, managing and expanding a portfolio of relationships and building an external and internal network of contacts to derive new clients. He/she will manage client profitability by designing and implementing various strategies based on the needs and goals of each client relationship. Essentially the Business Development Officer will act as "quarterback" for his/her clients, navigating them across the Bank’s broad product lines. It will be important for this person to partner with teammates and other internal bank specialists/resources for investment, fiduciary and financial planning expertise to provide a full array of products and services to the client.
SPECIFIC GEOGRAPHICAL AREA/CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS MANAGED: Brazil
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Proactively develop and maintain private banking client relationships. Review lead sources and intelligence gleaned from peers to uncover potential opportunities. (Customer sources are: Referrals from representative offices.) Partners with relationship team in Latin American representative office and conducts face-to-face joint calls.
2. Providing exceptional service to the Rep Offices.
3. Represent all Bank products in target market area by providing personalized service to customers; responding to specific questions; addressing concerns, personal considerations and all matters relative to their investments/deposit accounts. Promote Bank products and services in an effort to generate new business or maintain existing relationships.
4. Evaluate internal and external business and related data on current and prospective international clients.
5. Consult with customers to determine individual needs and risk appetite; provide financial, economic and banking information accordingly.
6. Follow up on efforts of private banking staff in connection with pending activity or documentation to ensure efficient and effective handling of new business opportunities.
7. Maintain on-going dialogue and open communication with Bank personnel in the U.S. , and Latin America in connection with service, new business developments and account information.
8. Generate reports and other information for management. Review internal reports and data concerning customer accounts, profiles to appropriately utilize for business initiatives.
9. Keep abreast of market and economic developments and communicate relevant information to management and customers.
10. Continuously monitoring ECS and adhering to all Compliance policies and procedures for Private Banking.
11. Taking care of all loans and follow up.
12. Personally handle problems of a complex nature and follow-up on pending items.
13. Perform other duties, as assigned, which fall within scope of responsibility.
Compliance
· The incumbent must been seen as a leader in demonstrating the Bank's values through creating a culture of Compliance and ethics.
· The incumbent is responsible for conducting business in full compliance with all applicable laws/regulations in accordance with the highest ethical standards. This includes following all company policies and procedures, as well as supporting law enforcement throughout the world to combat various types of financial crime, such as attempts to launder money for criminal activity and finance terrorist operations.
· The incumbent is expected to fully comply with the Bank's BSA/AML policy and attend annual trainings.
· It is critical that the incumbent adheres to the Bank's policy of "Know Your Customer" and detects/reports any noncompliant situations accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
Knowledge:
· Strong BANKING product knowledge
· Demonstrates past experience in employing effective sales/relationship management system
· Exhibits strong performance/sales management skills
· Detailed knowledge and broad financial industry knowledge to include expertise in financial products, and the banking and securities industry worldwide.
· Intimate knowledge and awareness of emerging market investments as well as political and economic climate of countries.
Technical Skills:
· Employs market/competitor awareness in relationship communication and business development opportunities
· System & Technology Use: Displays working knowledge of system; Navigates systems quickly and accurately; Exhibits required keyboarding skills; Accesses data efficiently.
Able to use job-specific software (Bloomberg).

OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION
Experience Needed: A minimum of five years experience within Private Banking requiring the development of customer relationships, the achievement of specific sales goals, the cultivation of referral sources and the development of new account relationships.
Education Required:Business Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required. MBA preferable.
Licenses: Must retain license/certification requirements designated by industry/organization that includes NASD Series 7 and 63.
Languages: Portuguese required. Spanish preferred but not required; Hebrew helpful.
Business Travel: Travel to each country in target market minimum of 25%/Yr.
